Why don’t the people suffering from computer viruses try linux?

Some people love Windows and that’s fine. But so many people are complaining about viruses and other windows problems. Why don’t those people try out a good linux OS, like Ubuntu? It’s very easy to try Ubuntu through a program called ‘Wubi’ which installs Ubuntu without touching your Windows installation. Even if you like windows games, you can have linux as a backup in case you get a virus, or for simple web browsing since linux is so much faster than windows…
Also, those people could get a Mac, although its a bit expensive and linux is Free.
